The objective of the project is the conservation of 49 hectares of aluvial wood and river banks and 1.3 hectares of adjacent lake; the recuperation of 16 hectares for species and habitats of interest and the protection of 4934 hectares with 15 habitats and 3 species of interest. To achieve this objective, technicians from INLUDES collaborating with the Consellería de Medio Ambiente and the University of Santiago, have proposed to carry out various projects in the area, aimed at the recovery of the natural riches of the Insuas do Miño and the Área Parga – Ladra.

This project is seen as a contribution to the conservation of nature within a global strategy of local development and economical diversification whose principal asset is the revaluing of river resources.
